11th Indian Division

History of the 11th Indian Division

This division was formed in Egypt on 24 December 1914. It was never fully formed to the full war establishment of a division and was broken up on 31 May 1915. One of its brigades took part in a named action, but for the most part it was used as a depot for the Indian force in France and Flanders.
