2nd Cyclist Division

History of the 2nd Cyclist Division

The division was formed in late July 1916 by the conversion of the former 4th Mounted Division. It was headquartered at Colchester but moved to Ipswich in September 1916. The division remained as part of the home defence force but was broken up by 16 November 1916.
