XLV Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery

This was a unit of Britain’s pre-war regular army. It is also sometimes shown as 45 Brigade RFA.


  • This brigade was originally comprised of numbers 1 ,3 and 5 Batteries RFA and the Brigade Ammunition Column and was at Chapeltown Barracks at Leeds when war was declared. It was placed under command of the 8th Division and went to France with it, landing at Le Havre on 6 November 1914.
    • 57 (Howitzer) Battery joined from 128 (Howitzer) Brigade of the same Division on 18 May 1916.
