Located at Dehra Dun in India at start of war
20 September 1914: left from Karachi on ship “City of Lahore”, arrived at Suez 2 October 1914. Proceeded to Ismailia
25 April 1915: Deployed to the Gallipoli campaign, battery began to land at Anzac Beach at 6pm. Proceeded to Plugge’s Plateau
27 April 1915: came under orders of 1st Australian Division
19 December 1915: began to evacuate from position
25 December 1915: departed on ship “Knight of the Garter” and landed at Mudros
28 December 1915: left Mudros, landed at Alexandria on 31 December. Proceeded to Camp Suez
24 January 1916: marched to El Shatt
21 February 1916: left on ships “Moora”, “Ausonia”, and “Coconada”. Arrived in the Shatt-al-Arab 5 March
9-17 March 1916: landed at Basra

23rd Peshawar Mountain Battery (Frontier Force)
Located at Abbottabad in India at start of war
17 October 1914 sailed on the ship “Umta” from Karachi as part of Indian Expeditionary Force “D”
Proceeded via Bahrein to land at Basra in Mesopotamia.
24th Hazara Mountain Battery (Frontier Force)
Served in the East African campaign.
25th Mountain Battery
Served in the Mesopotamia campaign under 18th Indian Division.
26th Jacob’s Mountain Battery

8 January 1915: moved to Kantara
25 April 1915: Deployed to the Gallipoli campaign, battery began to land at Anzac Beach at 10.30am. Proceeded to Plugge’s Plateau
27 April 1915: came under orders of New Zealand and Australian Division
20 December 1915: departed on ship “Knight of the Garter” and landed at Mudros
28 December 1915: left Mudros, landed at Alexandria on 31 December. Proceeded to Camp Suez
24 January 1916: marched to El Shatt
21 February 1916: sailed from Suez with 21st Kohat (see details above) and arrived at Basra for service in the campaign in Mesopotamia.
27th Mountain Battery
Served in the East African campaign under 1st East African Division.
28th Mountain Battery
Served in the East African campaign under 2nd East African Division.
29th Mountain Battery
Served in Egypt and Palestine under the Desert Mounted Corps.
30th Mountain Battery
Served in Mesopotamia campaign.

Served in Mesopotamia campaign.
32nd Mountain Battery
Served in Egypt and Palestine under the Desert Mounted Corps.
The Frontier Garrison Battery
Remained in India.
