Chris wins a prestigious award

I am delighted to report that at its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 20 March 2022, the Guild of Battlefield Guides announced me as this year’s winner of its Nathaniel Wade Award.

More details of this award can be seen at https://www.gbg-international.com/about/award/nathaniel-wade/

The Nathaniel Wade Award allows the Guild to publicly recognise the contribution of an individual, group or organisation associated with the Guild, who through their efforts has made a significant contribution to the craft of battlefield guiding and the wider Military History community. The selection of the winner is made by the Guild’s Board.

This is especially gratifying for me, as I am not a practicing battlefield guide. I am very pleaseed that the Long, Long Trail and my other published work proves to be helpful to those who are.

My sincere thanks to the Guild. Full details of the organisation – and notably, its accreditation scheme for would-be guides – can be seen at https://www.gbg-international.com/
