Duke of York’s Headquarters

Many of the units listed above were based at this complex, which between 1892 and 1909 was occupied by the Duke of York’s Royal Military School. It remained an important Territorial Force (later Territorial Army) facility until it was sold off by the Ministry of Defence in 2000-2003.

The complex is shown as “Military School” on this 1898 Ordnance Survey Map (National Library of Scotland).
