22 Anti-Aircraft Battery
This unit came into existence on 30 November 1915 when numbers 22 and 26 Anti-Aircraft Sections were
merged. Both had been in France for some months, and were under orders of First Army. At the time, the
sections were located at Annequin and Les Facons, near Le Touret, respectively. Each of the sections was equipped with two 13-pounder guns, mounted on lorries. In November 1916 it became A Anti-Aircraft Battery.

A Anti-Aircraft Battery
In November 1916, 22 and 26 AA Sections, previously having been together as 22 AA Battery, were renamed as
“A” AA Battery and joined by a number of other sections, all equipped with the two 13-pounder guns. By April
1918, the battery was made up of numbers 22, 26, 77, 100, 165 and 219 AA Sections.
