Cartigny (Then and Now)

Cartigny lies SE of Peronne (Geoportail)
Imperial War Museum photograph Q17623. “Transport of the Scots Guards passing through Cartigny, 1917”.
A detail from the image. Note the roadside shrine (my highlight in yellow) and the damaged building on the right.
I can’t quite get Google Maps onto the spot from which Q17623 was taken, but this is close enough. Note the bend in the road, the shrine (same as it was and in the same place) and the renovated building on the right. In front of it stands the village war memorial. This is Grande Rue and the Scots Guards transport was heading towards the front. The walls and large building on the left of Q17623 are no longer there.
The shrine stands in front of the village school.
